Genital warts – symptoms

  • small, painless, hard lumps
  • erythematous-exfoliative changes
  • itching
  • baking
  • bleeding or discharge
  • pain – sporadically

Some infections may be asymptomatic with no changes visible to the eye, and the symptoms are often confused with hemorrhoids .

Medical consultation

During a medical consultation, the proctologist will interview the patient and perform a general examination. In the case of condylomas, there may be no need to take a sample for a histopathological examination. The above-mentioned tests do not require special preparation, they take a moment, and the examination itself is completely painless. After conducting the examination and collecting the necessary information, the doctor can suggest treatment.

Course of treatment

Surgical treatment of condylomas is necessary because if left they grow and can lead to serious complications: urination disorders, infiltration of surrounding tissues. Extensive and untreated changes can also lead to an increased risk of cancer development in the infected area. In the case of advanced changes, treatment is difficult and long-term, there is a possibility of disease recurrence and coexistence with other diseases. Treatment of small changes is often carried out using conservative methods using pharmacological agents.
